Everything people ask at the counter

Part 01

Garment care & eco dry cleaning

Is this dry cleaning?

It replaces it. Most people search for dry cleaning, so we use the phrase to be findable — but our default process is solvent-free garment care using Presso steam-and-air technology instead of perchloroethylene. Same outcome on a suit or dress; no chemical smell.

What does solvent-free actually mean?

No PERC and no petroleum solvents in the cleaning cycle. Garments are treated with heated steam, filtered air and controlled pressure, with targeted spotting where a stain needs it.

Is my garment safe in a solvent-free process?

Wool, cashmere, silk blends, suiting and structured jackets all do well, because there is no aggressive solvent bath and no tumbling. If a specific garment needs conventional treatment or hand work, we tell you at drop-off before anything is processed.

How fast is it?

Ready in 2 days as standard. Same-day service is available for an additional fee. Same-day and rush depend on the day's volume and the garment — never a guarantee. We confirm before we start. Some structured or delicate garments need longer, whatever tier you pick — paying for rush doesn't override it. We tell you at drop-off before we start.

Do you actually clean on site?

Yes. Everything is cleaned in house at 655 E Lake Dr. Your garments are never bagged onto a truck and sent to a wholesale plant across town.

Can you get this stain out?

Often, and we will always try — but tell us what it is and how old it is. Age, heat and previous home treatment matter more than the stain itself. If it will not come out, we say so instead of charging you twice.

Part 02

Laundry, wash & fold and self-service

How is wash & fold priced?

By weight, with a minimum per order. Bedding, comforters and heavily soiled loads are quoted separately because they take dryer capacity rather than washer capacity. Full figures are on the pricing page.

Do you separate my laundry from other customers'?

Yes. Every wash & fold order runs on its own — your clothes are never combined with another household's.

How long does wash & fold take?

Standard turnaround is next-day. Tell us at drop-off if you need it faster and we will tell you honestly whether the day's volume allows it.

Can I do my own laundry there?

Yes — the self-service studio has new high-capacity washers and dryers, so a family's whole week fits in one or two machines instead of six.

How late can I start a wash?

Start your last wash about an hour before we close.

Do you clean comforters and bedding?

Yes, including king comforters and duvets that will not fit a home machine. Our largest dryers run up to 83 lb, which is what actually matters for drying a comforter properly.

Part 03

Alterations, pickup and commercial

Do you do alterations and tailoring?

Yes — hems, waists, sleeves, tapering, zipper replacement and simple repairs. Bring the shoes or belt you will wear with the garment so the length is measured against real life.

Do you offer pickup and delivery?

Not yet. It is planned, and the waitlist decides which streets we route first — join it on the pickup & delivery page.

Do you handle business accounts?

Yes. Restaurants, salons, spas, studios, clinics, short-term rentals, venues and property managers all run through commercial accounts, quoted on volume and schedule rather than a published rate card.

What payment do you take?

Cards and contactless at the counter. Commercial accounts are invoiced on an agreed cycle.

What if something goes wrong with my garment?

Tell us within a week of pickup. Call 404-687-0035 or email support@thegarmentstudio.com and we will look at the garment in person — we would rather fix it than argue about it.

Ready when you are

Still have a question about a specific garment?

Bring it in, or call the counter. We would rather talk it through before it goes into a machine.

Same-day and rush depend on the day's volume and the garment — never a guarantee. We confirm before we start.
